Apple Pay: “Validation failed”

I have encountered an issue recently regarding apple pay.


Ive been trying to purchase something through an app and it says “validation failed“ when i double click to confirm my payment. Its weird because I just purchased something the other day using the same card but now its not letting me.


Please let me know if you encountered this or have a solution. Thanks!

Same here. Supposedly unable to find the phone for validation (note that other apps on the Mac have no problem finding and using the phone, like Messages app)


I strongly suspect it was done on purpose by one of our recent OS Security updates.


It does not seem to be an issue for those with the fingerprint ID keyboards -- only those of us that try the double-click your phone method of confirming the purchase.


If so, then Apple really needs to change the wording on the failure message to match reality -- like explaining the real why ( we won't let you connect to your phone for this because----?)
