Error code -36
This error has cropped up when moving a file from desktop to external hard drive.
I have tried dot_clean but it won’t recognise the path name of the hard drive.
Any other ideas?

Was the problematic Drive formatted exFat from an Apple Computer ?
If not, suggest reformatting the drive on the Apple computer to the Fat / MBR GUID Partition Map.
The reformat the drive back to the desired format and GUID Partition Map while still on the Apple computer.
Understand - formatting the drive will remove ALL DATA that can not be recovered
Erase and reformat a storage device in Disk Utility on Mac - Apple Support (CA)
