Restore from iCloud paused for no reason!!!

So, my iPhone storage is almost full and so is my iCloud storage (200gb). A few days ago though, while searching for a specific picture, I realized that 40000 of my photos are missing. And then i saw that for some reason iCloud restore was paused. I mean I didnt do anything, I don't know if its like an automatic defense mechanism so my phone doesn't die or sth because its so full lmao. But the problem is that I've tried EVERYTHING (checked my internet connection, full battery, restarts and shutdowns, and. NOTHING has worked so far. Plus, my phone that now has about the 1/5 of the photos I used to have, still has the same amount of consumed gb, so its not like it has freed space either. SEND HELP ASAP. Thanks in advandce! :)

Hi there lydiadami,

We're happy to help. What happens when you try to resume the restore?

The time it takes to restore from a backup depends on the size of your backup and the speed of your Wi-Fi network. If you still need help, check below for your issue or the alert message that you see.

You'll find this information here: If restore from iCloud backup failed - Apple Support

Keeping that in mind, is your iPhone connected to a reliable Wi-Fi network with good signal strength (not Personal Hotspot)?

Also, you mentioned that your iPhone storage is full. This could be the reason the restore didn't complete. You can try removing content to allow the process to finish with the guidance here: How to check the storage on your iPhone and iPad - Apple Support

Next, were you using iCloud Photos before you attempted to restore from this backup? If so, the photos wouldn't have been included in the backup. Have a look at the information in the 'About your photos' section here: About missing information after you restore your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iCloud Backup - Apple Support

Take care.

Hello lydiadami,

You're certainly welcome! We'll need more information in order to help. What happens when you try to resume the restore? What exactly do you see in Settings > [your name] > iCloud > iCloud Backup for the status of the restore?

Also, keep in mind, iCloud storage and device storage are separate. Upgrading your iCloud storage won't increase your device storage. Learn more about the differences here: What's the difference between device storage and iCloud storage?

Send over this info so we can take a closer look and provide some additional guidance.

Thanks!

Thanks again.

About resuming the restore theres not such option.

I actually cant find atm the icloud backup u directed me too but i remember that last time i checked it just showed it was in progress/loading.

and yeah i know its not the same i just hoped that u know, because my icloud would go under some like alteration nevertheless, maybe it something would trigger the restore, and it actually did tho it only started the process from the beginning and it paused again at the same point.

oh, also, right now it doesnt say its paused but “restore from icloud” altough its still basically stuck.
