I set up my new MacBook Air but did not set a screen password. I am unable to get in to the laptop
How can I get passed a locked screen that has no password set yet?

If you're certain no password was created, you should be able to log in by clicking in the Password entry box and hitting Return on your keyboard.

In that case, you'll have to follow the steps in this Apple Support article: https://support.apple.com/guide/mac-help/reset-your-mac-login-password-mh35902/mac#:~:text=Reset%20your%20login%20password%20using%20your%20Apple%20ID&text=Click%20the%20question%20mark%20next,it%20using%20your%20Apple%20ID.%E2%80%9D
Hope this helps.
Many, many years ago a user could bypass creating a login password by simply hitting Return at the login creation screen. No idea if this still works or not, though.

Yes you did enter a password as that is part of an operating system installation and setup. You will have to reset it as noted above. This time I suggest writing this information down and saving it somewhere secure for future reference.
This does not work for me. Any other options?
