Photo Recovery from Old Macbook

How do I recover photos from a dead Macbook?

Were the photos taken with an iPhone or digital camera outside of the computer? Recovery from those may be easier than the computer if it is that computer.


MacBook Pro without a touchbar 2017

MacBook Early 2017

MacBook Air 2017


are not soldered, though an authorized service provider would be able to pull out the drive and get data off.

Other MacBooks from 2017 are soldered, and if the logicboard is not damaged, it might be possible for an authorized service provider to get the data off.


Contact your local http://www.apple.com/buy service provider if you don't have the photos on any other medium and want to see if they can access the data, and resetting the SMC does not help restart the machine.
