Apple TV 4k Wifi + Ethernet - Beta Downgrade from tvOS 17

I'd like to know if it's possible to downgrade to tvOS 16 from tvOS Beta. Since this Apple TV model does not have a USB-C port for IPSW file (link below), is it possible to revert back to tvOS, or will I need to was for the Public official release of tvOS 17?

To note, I have unenrolled from the Beta program, turned the Automatic Updates for Beta to Off, and attempted a 'Rest and Update' as of July 2023.

Thank you.

No sorry, not possible. The option to Restore to an earlier version is only possible on the Apple TV 4th Gen (HD) with the USB port.

We cannot discuss the beta any further here.

Based on the Apple recommended suggestion the options seem to be switch to a competitor or buy a new one and return yours in its place.

No, the option is Unenroll, and wait for the regular release of tvOS to replace the Beta version.

You were warned when instaling it this was the case, if you were not ready to deal with Beta issues, you should not have installed it. It is not a way to see the iOs early, it is not meant for regular users, it is meant for developers to test their apps on devices that they don't depend on and its made abundantly clear that it can and probably will have issues.

Apple Beta — FAQ

What is the Apple Beta Software Program?

The Apple Beta Software Program lets users try out pre-release software. The feedback you provide on quality and usability helps us identify issues, fix them, and make Apple software even better. Please note that since the public beta software has not yet been commercially released by Apple, it may contain errors or inaccuracies and may not function as well as commercially released software. Be sure to back up your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch and your Mac using Time Machine before installing beta software. Since Apple TV purchases and data are stored in the cloud, there’s no need to back up your Apple TV. Install the beta software only on non-production devices that are not business critical. We strongly recommend installing on a secondary system or device, or on a secondary partition on your Mac.

Is the public beta software confidential?

Yes, the public beta software is Apple confidential information. Don’t install the public beta software on any systems you don't directly control or that you share with others. Don’t blog, post screen shots, tweet, or publicly post information about the public beta software, and don't discuss the public beta software with or demonstrate it to others who are not in the Apple Beta Software Program. If Apple has publicly disclosed technical information about the public beta software, it is no longer considered confidential.

You should restrict that to regular users by not listing that option. Do not say that "You were warned when installing" .

And then Apple would be accused of "nanny-ing" or dumbing down the system.

That is what I am expecting from Apple. You can identify the regular users with their apple account and make it happen.

This is a user-to-user forum. You're not addressing Apple here. No one in this forum can identify "regular users" except by the content of their posts.

Thanks for your reply. If that is not meant for regular users , why do you display that option in the TV screen when I navigate to System-->software update --> and access to download that version by letting me click. You should restrict that to regular users by not listing that option. Do not say that "You were warned when installing" . Think about accidental clicks or kids clicking that option etc. I know I won't gen an answer for that and this post will be deleted. But make sure regular users have access to regular TVos releases only. This way whatever happens , clean TVos only will be installed for regular users. I can stop posting or replying you in these forums , because in my case this is not going any where. But in future regular users will be more beneficial. That is what I am expecting from Apple. You can identify the regular users with their apple account and make it happen.
