Hello, I’m trying to connect an old A1407 display (2011) to my Ipad Air 4th. I tried the Thunderbolt cable of Apple but it said The ipad is not supported. I did update the ipad to the latest version but it still doesn’t work out. Kindly help to advise which cable should I buy.

The iPad Air (4th generation) has a USB-C port but it's not Thunderbolt, so won't run a Thunderbolt display. The Apple Thunderbolt 2 to 3 adapter plug will fit, but the display won't work.
There is no way to use the Thunderbolt display with a non-Thunderbolt device.
