Spelling mode (Voice control) is not working. Although I have the latest version (and the latest update), spelling mode is simply not there. Command mode and dictation mode work fine. Can anyone help?

I had this problem as well. It turned out that spelling mode is only available when the voice control language is United States English, and doesn't work for United Kingdom English. (For completeness in case it makes a difference: I'm using a 2020 macbook pro on Sonoma 14.)

I appreciate it's been a few months since you raised this but if it helps, I had the same problem and resolved it by changing the voice control language to United States English, instead of United Kingdom English. i.e. Spelling mode isn't supported for all languages and apparently these are two different languages!

It is my own private computer, not school or business. I use the MacBook's internal mic. According to Apple the Spelling Mode function came in with Ventura, which I am running. The function simply isn't there, hence my post.
