Issues receiving messages after unblocking

I have blocked and unblocked him too many times to count. After I last unblocked him, I couldn’t receive his texts or phone calls but voicemails. I cleared up a lot of storage on my phone, restarted my phone, and started an update. Before the update was complete I was able to receive his texts but only temporarily. A day or so later I completed the update and received a text. Now I get the texts delayed. Although I added him as a friend on Snapchat, he added me back, I would send him messages but on his end the messages wouldn’t appear, bc he is saved as a contact in my phone and it’s synced to my contacts. Please help with the issue.

These steps may be able to help:

If you still need help

* Try to restart your iPhone or iPad.

* Check your network connection. To send a message as iMessage or MMS, you need a cellular data or Wi-Fi connection. To send an SMS message, you need cellular network connection. If you turn on Wi-Fi Calling, you can send SMS messages over Wi-Fi.

* Check with your carrier to see if the type of message you’re trying to send, like MMS or SMS, is supported.

* If you’re trying to send group MMS messages on an iPhone, go to Settings > Messages and turn on MMS Messaging. If you don't see an option to turn on MMS Messaging or Group Messaging on your iPhone, then your carrier might not support this feature.

* Make sure that your device has enough space to receive images and videos.

* Make sure that you entered the correct phone number or email address for the contact.

If the issue is with SMS messages, it may be best to reach out to your carrier. If these are iMessages, can you verify your iPhone and iOS version?
