Adapter required for use with 2 Screens ?

Hi there.

Before I purchase a MBA (M2), i just wanted to know if its likely to work with my 2 Dell (U2422he) monitors.

They are connected to each other via USB C cable with a single USB C cable coming from one screen to my Dell Laptop.

The monitors also have HDMI ports on them…

Is this setup likely to work on a new MBA or do i need to purchase an adapter of some sort ?

If so, any recommendations?

Thank you.

I use a Plugable DisplayLink adaptor, available on Amazon. Not too expensive, and I have managed to run 3 displays (2 with the adaptor, 1 with a USB C hub with HDMI), plus my iPad using Universal control

Thank you.

I would not recommend any adapter. The specifications for that model Mac states that it supports one external display. The quality of the externally connected displays will be deteriorated and of poor quality if additional displays are connected. Using adapters does not increase the support for external displays and the Mac will not generate additional video specs/functionality to support the additional displays.

The other option is one of the ultra-wide screen displays. They can have nearly the same screen real estate as two monitors.

FWIW, the Display Link route is basically a hack to how the Mac operates and any macOS update/upgrade could easily break that functionally and the set up will no longer work until the vendor of the Display Link software develops a fix.
