iMovie won't save project....anywhere and I have 970 gigs free space
Imovie will not save a 120 minute project anywhere on my MacBook. I tried a variety of folders with no success plus I have 970 gigs of free space.
MacBook Pro 13″, macOS 13.4

Hi,
What steps did you take to export the project, and what happened when you tried? Any error message and, if so, what is the exact text? What export settings did you use? Do other, less voluminous projects, export fine?
A two hour movie is quite long and results in a large file size. If you exported at Best Quality (pro res) you would be using a tremendous amount of free space.
First thing is to try deleting/resetting preferences, as that procedure often cures export issues. To delete/reset preferences open iMovie while holding down the Option and Command keys and select to delete preferences in
the box that appears. iMovie will open in a new empty library. Reopen your old library to get back to your projects. Possibly you may need to reboot to set the changes. Deleting preferences is a safe procedure that will not cause data loss or disruption to your project. Now see if you can export your project.
You also might try using a lower quality export setting.
Another thing you can try is to do an Edit/Select All of the media in your project, and then Edit/Paste it into the timeline of a newly created project. Your edits will carry over. See if you can export from there.
The above addresses potential software issues. If still no luck you might consider running your Mac's hardware check feature to see if you have a hardware issue, such as faulty or insufficient RAM, or possibly a failing graphics card.
