Curious, if the Genius Bar set it up, why you'd be on the Recovery Assistant screen?
Some questions come to mind:
- Were you transferring everything from an old Mac to this new one? Or is this your first Mac?
- Are you saying that your Mac password is (supposed to be) the same as your Apple ID password, and it's not working? (Asking because many don't realize that a Mac password isn't necessarily the same as your Apple ID password. The Mac password allows "access" to the Mac, whereas the Apple ID password is used for things like iCloud, Apple Music, etc.)
It might be worth the trip to go back to the Apple Store, as the Genius Bar apparently didn't finish everything.
