I hope someone can help me. I’ve been using Music (formerly iTunes) for years and have nearly 200 GB of music. I meant to select two albums to join together (the details aren’t important) and somehow, some way selected what must have been hundreds of albums. Not yet realizing this, I changed the title and artist, and I have something like 4000 songs all listed under a single title and artist. Help!!!

If you don't have a proper backup of your library in Time Machine do have any older copies of the library file in the Previous Libraries folder? Don't open any of them yet as doing so may cause them to be updated with existing metadata. I potentially have a way to backup data from one of your old libraries to a text file which can then be imported and applied to your current library to repair it. See Accidentally changed the name of every album and album artist in my Apple Music to the same name on my Mac. Restoring the Music folder on Time Machine fixed nothing for a older thread where I discussed these techniques.

Did you have a backup of your music library? The only option you have is to restore the backup before you made those changes. See the 'If you have a Mac' section in:
