iPhone 12 mini lagging after last update

My iPhone 12 mini has really slowed down since the last upgrade to IOS 16.5.1. If I receive a text I get a notification but when I check my messages there’s nothing there then suddenly after about 5/6 seconds it appears. Every app I use it takes about 5 seconds to open. And when I’m trying to go from one app to another, it’s just so frustrating and takes what feels like forever. I’ve tried switching the phone off/on. I removed the sim for a while but no change. I’m hoping that the next upgrade will sort the problem but if anyone has had this issue and been able to fix it, I’d be glad of some advice. Thanks.

Just updated my iPhone 12 mini to ios16.6 last night and performance is back to what it was before the 16.5.1 update. Apps , messages, phone call notifications and keystrokes no longer lagging 6 seconds behind. Battery no

longer heating up in my hand and draining constantly . Im

5 to 6 seconds is forever to you?

Basic troubleshooting:

Restart, Reset, Restore from backup and Restore as NEW.
