Payments made via Apple Cash are credited to your available credit almost immediately. It sounds like you did an ACH transfer between your bank and Goldman Sachs Bank. ACH transfers aren’t made over the weekend, so funds probably didn’t start transferring until Monday. Normally, this would credit within 1 to 3 days from when you pressed the payment button.

Is your account relatively new, less than 6 months old? Was it a larger payment than you’ve previously made? Is your account near its credit limit? Is your checking account new? There are probably a dozen other factors that affect when your payment is credited to your account’s available credit. Banks will delay crediting the payment when they are at risk of fraud. Legally, they have 30 days to credit the funds.

I would chat or call Goldman Sachs and inquire about the availability of funds. If you ask, they may release all or part of the funds. They are not required to and it’s a goodwill gesture. Please use the contact information below.

Just as an FYI, your bank has up to 30 days after payment to request return of funds for your payment. Many people believe that once the funds are withdrawn from their bank, it’s paid. But that’s not the way it works. This means I can have a $5000 credit limit, spend it, make a payment of $5000 and spend that. I’ve spent $10000 of the banks money and now I can skip. The original payment bounces or my bank demands it’s return to cover other withdrawals and Goldman Sachs is out $10,000. This happens everyday, but on a large scale. Banks are careful with their depositors money and rightly so. I’m not accusing, just using an example of what an automated system is designed to protect against.

Yes I had one returned payment that I actually had the money but something got charged before, then they tried, and money started arriving again after that (small business acct). So after this returned payment I made another right away and right on that one it took 10 business days for them to make it available and many other after that (until recently two were actually credited right away).

They could have me on some sort of “probation” because of the returned payment I don’t know…

I’ve been a customer since the beginning also. Every month my payment is credited virtually instantly. Our experiences are vastly different. There can be multiple reasons why a payment is reflected instantly as > Available Credit <.

If anyone needs instant Available Credit they need to learn to pay their statement using Apple Cash. Here’s a link to an Apple Support article on how to make Apple Card payments, including using Apple Cash.

I hope this helps.

I did try to make a payment with apple cash and it still wasn't immediate. This issue started as soon as the news come about regarding Apple the Goldman Sachs. This is clearly related to that.

"Apple Inc. approached Goldman Sachs Group Inc. to cancel its partnership with its credit card and savings accounts on Nov. 28.

Apple’s proposal would cancel the partnership within 12 to 15 months, leaving the tech giant to find a new banking provider for the Apple Card and Apple Savings services."

Question to all having the issue: did you ever had a payment returned? Cause mine actually started happening after this unfortunately happened for fractions of a dollar, and then it started happening it. I did submit two payments recently through my bank account that were actually credited right away, but two others took their usual 10 business days. (Also done two apple cash payments to test, one was credited right away, and the other took a couple of minutes).

I’m sorry you’ve had an issue with your account. My post above is still applicable. Everyone’s experience will be different. I’ve been a customer since the beginning and have never had an issue with payments being instantly credited to my account. I pay usually pay via my Apple Cash account, but today payed via my Wells Fargo account and it was credited to my available credit instantly.

No where does Bloomberg or any other source verify that Goldman Sachs accepted Apple’s offer. Bloomberg does not quote any Apple executive or even an Apple employee. Why the rush to spread FUD (Fear, Uncertainty, Doubt)?

In my opinion, there’s no need to share anything other than personal experiences or and support articles supported by Apple and their partner, Goldman Sachs Bank.

And they didn’t start happening then. I’m active on both Reddit and the Apple Card group on Facebook. The Facebook group has 20,000 plus members and what you’re reporting is not what is being experienced by the vast majority of 20,000 people. Go read through the posts and you find a couple people reporting a hold on payments.

There are multiple reasons a bank will hold a payment and none of them have to do what you’re proposing.

Clearly I do not. Please visit my profile in this community. I’m upfront with Apple being a former employer. You’ll also see where I live and I use my real name and I’ve disclosed my affiliation with a Facebook group.
