MacBook Pro M1 Pro shutting down with 10% battery life left

My Macbook gets shutdown when battery reaches 10% left automatically without notice.

MacBook Pro 16″, macOS 13.4

In my view, it should notify user to plug in before it gets off.

The rule of thumb—if you are near the mains leave it plugged in, if you need the portability then run on the battery only


—this is how you optimize your battery charging and extend the working life of your battery by reducing the cycle count.



I would not run it down to 10%... you are getting critically low under the best of circumstances


For your issue MacBook Pro M1—

Try a SafeBoot Use safe mode on your Mac - Apple Support will sort many anomalies.

Reboot as normal and compare your results.
