iphone won't let me unhide a page on my home screen

My iphone randomly hid my first page on my home screens, and when I try to "unhide" it, I can't as there are no circles under the pages to either hide or unhide pages. The one page that's hidden has the minus sign on it, so it could be deleted, but I can't unhide it. I've tried restarting my iphone. Can anyone help?

Thanks :)

Using ios 16.5.1

Hello karatespacetiger,

Welcome to Apple Support Communities!

We'd like to provide some steps to help find the Home Screen that is lost.

Touch anywhere on your Home Screen where there is no app.

Keep holding until you see the apps jiggling.

After seeing them jiggle you should then see the dots above the dock now.

Once you press on the dots it will bring up all of your Home Screens.

All of them or some of them will have checkmarks under the icon.

If you see one that does not have a checkmark check to see if that is the missing Home page. If it is then tap the circle to add a checkmark to it.

Tap on Done at top right and your missing Home Screen page should now be available.

If you're not seeing the Home Screen at all that is lost, it could have been accidentally deleted.

Let us know if you have any questions.

Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.

Take care!

Hi thanks for the reply I got a workaround for this, I'll post it here in case anyone ever searches in the future. So I was following the steps you outlined above already but there were no checkmarks under the home screen icons to check or uncheck, so I couldn't hide or unhide the screens.

I went into the Display & Brightness settings on my phone and switched from "Light" mode to "Dark" mode, and that made the circles/checkmarks visible so that I could uncheck the one that was hidden and unhide it.

Interestingly, it's not just that the checkmarks were faint in Light mode, they are simply not there. When I switch the display back and forth between light and dark mode, they disappear/reappear correspondingly.

Have a nice day :)
