How to sync all my icloud photos to my wife’s ipad

How do I automatically sync every photo from my iCloud Photos library to my wife’s iPad on her own Apple ID?

(I currently do this by syncing all photos from my Mac Photos library to her iPad using USB).

I have read the iCloud Shared library KB but it doesn’t fully describe the process for sharing and syncing every photo as if the iPad was mine. It appears to involve manually choosing photos to be put in a shared library and I understood there was a limit.

I really want to preserve our two separate Apple IDs as recommended.

PS

  1. the iCloud Photos library does not yet exist!
  2. Her current iPad maxes out at ipadOS15

Hello LD150,

Thank you for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. The best method is to create a shared album in the Photos and share the photos within the album so your wife can have access to it. Here's an article with additional details and the proper steps to take: How to use Shared Albums in Photos on your iPhone, iPad, and Mac - Apple Support

Kind regards.

Thanks bryanr14, - Shared Albums according to that KB can only hold 5000 images and we have 17,000. I should have said that at the beginning!

I have taken a look around over the last 48 hours and I think she will have to upgrade to ipadOS16 and use Shared Library so a new iPad Mini 6 will be required on her birthday in a couple of months.

Mean time I will continue to sync using USB.

Appreciate the help though.
