All the Apple Watch faces come from Apple.

Complications can be from Apple or 3rd parties.

If you did not install any 3rd party apps on your Apple Watch, then you would only have Apple provided complications.

In my experience, the most trouble some 3rd party apps and 3rd party complications cause, is excessive battery drain.

Remember, 3rd party apps and complications must pass Apple’s App Store approval process, so they have had some sanity checking. Also if an app or complication gets past the approval process, but turns out to be harmful, Apple can remove it from the App Store, and disable it on all Apple Watches. This rarely happens, as the screening process is through.
