Even when plugged in, full battery drains when typing with iPad? Vs bluetooth keyboard

How to prevent battery drain when plugged in? I am surprised battery drains from 100 to 92 in less than an hour of Numbers editing. Apps opened are following:

① Pencil 2 connected but idle

② VPN on

③ Safari

④ Chrome

⑤ WiFi connected

⑥ IPad keyboard in use

⑦ banking

⑧ soft phone

I don’t expérience battery drain in following situation

① Pencil 2 connected but not used

② VPN on

③ External Bluetooth Keyboard in use

④ WiFi connected

Is there more battery drain when typing with iPad keyboard even when plugged in and at full battery?

Questions

  1. Check and specifically look at standard of the bluetooth protocol of the connected keyboard . Needs to be at least 5.0 with low energy Or better.
  2. Apples own wireless devices - the white and clear plastic battery powered and the first generation of the aluminium unit with batteries fall into this category !
  3. Some cheaper units especially those supplied with cases can be 4.0 or older . Whilst they do connect they will drain your power more quickly.
  4. Stop with the Chrome its a power hog !!!
  5. Monitor your WiFi signal strength.
  6. If you have a WiFi and mobile device turn off the mobile radio when NOT required
  7. Turn off bluetooth when no ancillaries are connected - this will stop the radio constantly broadcasting !

Basically get in to the habit of turning OFF all unused broadcasting transmitters and ditch Chrome !

If you use the office suite , substitute numbers and pages or even Office 365 and store files locally.
