If you cannot contact the previous owner, that 13" Late 2006 or Mid 2007 MacBook may not be as useful as you had hoped. Newer machines support Activation Lock. If the previous owner did not prepare a Mac for sale – and it is marked as Lost, with an Activation Lock on it, you cannot remove the Activation Lock without an Apple ID and password, or proof of original purchase that satisfies Apple, that you would not have.

Even if Find My and Activation Lock do not apply to this MacBook, it may be mainly of historical interest. According to MacTracker, both of the 16+ year old machines that match that Model ID originally shipped with a point release of Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger). Neither can run anything higher than Mac OS X 10.7.5 (Lion). The official RAM limit is 2 GB, but they can take 3 GB (which might still be limiting, even with Tiger, Leopard, Snow Leopard, or Lion). The hard drive is a 4200 or 5400 rpm model.
