Compound Clip Linked Together

So, I created a compound clip, and then I copied and pasted it. The problem is, every time I make changes to one of the compound clips, the changes also apply to the original compound clip. They are linked together. How do I prevent the compound clips from behaving this way?

I have worked on two clips in relation to each other, and created a compound clip so those changes are conserved for both clips, and will both respond to future changes to the compound clip. I made a copy of compound clip, because I would like to make additional changes, independent of the first compound clip. When I change the speed of an edited sequence using Custom Speed, the clips all remains the same length, ruining the edit. Hi. If I edit together a sequence and then decide I need to change the speed, if I select 2x Speed, for example, then the length of all the clips changes proportionately and the edit remains in tact. This used to be the case for Custom Speed too, but I must have accidentally changed a setting. Now, if I change a sequence to Custom Speed, each clip in the sequence changes speed, but remains the same length in time - ruining the edit. I then have to readjust every clip individually. It's driving me mad. Can anyone help please? Thanks.

Change multiple clip durations without changing transitions I am editing multiple text layers with dissolve transitions on the end and beginning of the clips. Now I have to change the length of multiple (text) clips. Every time I pull the end of a clip the transition length changes. How can I extend the clips without changing the transition? And how can I change the length multiple clips at the same time? I tried to select them all and then pull the end of one clip. That doesnt seem to work.

After you duplicate the compound, when you put it in a project use the function Reference New Parent Clip in the Clip menu.
