Ventura not showing USB-C external drive

Someone asked this question a while ago but comments are closed. After checking here, finding no results/answers, I randomly did a search on Finder.

I searched USB-C and there it was. Showed it was not in any folder at all, but there it was. I dragged it to my side-bar.

Not sure what it'll do next time I need to use it (in the middle of copying some stuff over) but this is a problem. I see Sonoma is either coming out soon or is. Hopefully someone will address the glitch.

Since it sounds like it is working(you found your external drive in the end), is there still a problem or question?

An external drive would not normally appear in a folder, but rather would be seen on the Desktop and/or in the Locations list in the sidebar.

There is also a Finder Setting to show various devices in the sidebar. I check all the boxes so everything is shown, but it might not show if the box is not checked. Also to show disks and various devices on the Desktop. You can modify these Settings by going to Finder => Settings and look at the General and Sidebar tabs within those Settings.
