Noise cancellation and transparency mode play static sound in one ear - AirPods Max

My AirPods Max have started to play a static sound constantly whilst in either noise cancellation mode or transparency mode. It does not happen when these two are turned off.

It only happens in one ear and sounds like there is wind blowing constantly.

I have had these headphones for a little over a month & it has only started happening today.

How can I fix this?
