voicemail on iphone11.

Following one of the iOS 16s, my voicemail is asking for my voicemail password. I don’t remember ever having to enter one before. How can I get in. It says call voicemail when the icon on the phone appears with how many messages are there. When call connects with an ai says to enter the password or mailbox number??

New iPhone 14 Pro I do not have Voicemail in my Phone Settings. I have been unsuccessful with my providers Chat services. I understand how to enter my voicemail password to get to the next screen to record my voicemail greeting. My problem is that I am unable to get my password entered in Voicemail set-up. Any help would be appreciated.
