why does my family organizers name show up in my emails

Whenever I email someone my moms (family organizer) name shows up to the person I sent the email to. Instead of receiving an email from “Jerzie” it shows up as Rhonda. My Apple ID is my name so I’m not sure why it does this. Does anyone know how to change this?

Hi jerzie14,


We'll be glad to assist. We'd recommend starting by making sure the correct name is set.


  • Open the Settings app
  • Tap on “Mail”
  • Tap on “Accounts”
  • Tap on the email account that you're having issues with
  • Then it will show “Account” again and your email to the right. Tap on “account”
  • It will show “Name”. Make sure the name there is the actual name you want.
