Issue with shuffle in iTunes

I have an iPhone 12 mini. When I'm in my Library, I select Songs and then Shuffle. The only songs that will shuffle (play) are those I purchased from iTunes although I can see my entire list of songs that I uploaded from CD's. Anyone else have this issue?

MissDinSC,

That definitely helps clarify what you're experiencing. You mentioned that you can see those songs, can you also play the songs that you imported from CDs into your music library? In other words, if you select one of the songs that is being excluded from shuffle, are you able to play it successfully outside of shuffle?

Another thing we want to look into is the possibility that the songs you're referring to were marked as songs you want to prevent from playing. This may have been done inadvertently so it's a good idea to double check. This would need to be done on a computer, using either iTunes on a Windows PC or Music on a Mac. We're going to include the steps for both devices below.

If you're using a Mac: Prevent a song from playing in Music on Mac - Apple Support

If you're using a Windows PC: Play songs in iTunes on PC - Apple Support

You would just want to follow the steps in that article to check and see if the affected songs are marked as songs to skip and if they are, to click the check mark next to those songs to remove that designation.

We hope this helps!

Best wishes.

Hey there MissDinSC,

Thanks so much for using Apple Support Communities.

We want to help you get your iPhone 12 mini working as expected. We see that the music you uploaded manually from CDs isn't playing and we have some ideas on how you might be able to troubleshoot this.

To get started, we want to recommend that you try syncing that content back over to your iPhone once again. If that content is no longer playable for any reason, it may start working again as expected if you send those songs over again from scratch. This article will go over the steps to do that on both Windows and macOS: Sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod using your computer

We hope this does the trick for you!

Cheers.

I have reviewed random songs and none of them were checked to not shuffle. I have over 3,000 songs, so I can't check them all.
