Count & Stacked Notification Display Not Working

Hey, so my notifications aren’t displaying correctly when I choose them to be either the “Count” or ”Stacked” options. This has been super irritating because I want my notifications to display the way I want them to be. Whenever I choose “Count” or “Stacked” it’ll display like that for a while, but it’ll then display as the “Listed” option for some time. Kind of like the old iOS 15 notifications look. I even took time out to change the “Notification Grouping” setting for every single app I have downloaded, and it still didn’t work. When I set the Notification Group setting to “By App”, it just grouped the notifications by all and not the “Stacked” option. I’m honestly kind of worn out and tired of trying. I hope someone could help me lol.

Thank you,

TJ

Notification Display and Notification Grouping are two different settings that control how notifications are displayed on your phone. Refer to a few examples at the end of this post.

  1. Notification Display determines how notifications are displayed on your Lock Screen and Notification Center. You can choose to display notifications as a count, a list, or a stack.
    1. Notification Display refers to how individual notifications appear on your device's screen or notification panel. When you receive a notification from an app (e.g., a new message or email), it is displayed as a separate alert, allowing you to quickly view its content without opening the app. The Notification Display settings allow you to customize how notifications are shown on the screen.
    2. For instance, you might choose to display notifications as count at the top of the screen, alerts that require action to dismiss, or have them shown silently in the notification center without interrupting your current activities.
  2. Notification Grouping determines how notifications from the same app are displayed. You can choose to have notifications from the same app grouped together or to have them displayed individually.
    1. Notification Grouping, on the other hand, deals with the organization of notifications from the same app or related content. When multiple notifications arrive from a particular app, they can be grouped together to avoid cluttering the notification center.
    2. For example, if you receive several emails or messages from a messaging app, notification grouping will group them together under a single heading representing that app. This way, you can expand the group to see individual notifications or collapse it to save space and maintain a cleaner notification center.
    3. By using notification grouping, you can have a more organized and manageable notification experience, especially when dealing with multiple notifications from various apps.
    4. To summarize, Notification Display governs how individual notifications are shown on your device. Notification Grouping is about organizing related notifications from the same app to keep your notification center tidy and user-friendly.

Here are some examples of how Notification Display and Notification Grouping can be used together:

  • You can set your notification display to "List" and your notification grouping to "Automatic" so that all of your notifications from the same app are grouped together in a list.
  • You can set your notification display to "Count" and your notification grouping to "Off" so that all of your notifications from the same app are displayed as Count on your Lock Screen.
  • You can set your notification display to "Stack" and your notification grouping to "By app" so that all of your notifications from the same app are stacked together in a stack on your Lock Screen.
