Can an iMac get a virus?
My computer is running slower than normal. Just wondering if I picked up a virus. I have a 2013 iMac with a 27 inch screen.

Your decade-old Mac probably has a hard disk drive, and hard disks are glacially slow. Failing hard disks do get yet slower, leading up to corruptions and failure.
If this follows one typical path for reports of a slow iMac, this can be a configuration with 8 GB of memory and a hard disk, and yes, that’s slow. Or have installed aadd-on security apps, cleaners, or other issues. Or maybe the hard disk is failing.
The EtreCheck report will usually provide some more information.
You do probably want to be running macOS 10.15 here, too.
