I never logged out of Apple on my I pad or Telephone when it was linked to Wildblue internet. Wildblue was taken over by exceede but we still kept our wildblue email. Now when I try to update my apps It tells me to enter my password for an account thats long gone.

I'd advise you to do as in this support article but if you cannot receive emails a the old account you won't be able to change your address the usual way. Change your Apple ID - Apple Support
