What happens if i click a ad from the YouTube iOS app?

I’ve noticed that when the iOS YouTube app displays some app ads, at the bottom of the screen, a banner appears with a picture of the app and a (GET) button besides it. It’s becoming a pain. I tried to scroll down to find other videos and accidentally clicked the (GET) part, even though I didn’t mean to. I canceled the app download, but that makes me concerned, can these links to the App Store be malicious? The app I accidentally clicked on was Honkai Star Rail, a game I had no interest in. Does anyone know if these banner links to the App Store can can contain malware? I’m very concerned.

You do not need to worry about those links installing Malware on your iPhone. They are simply links to an App Store download and I do agree they are annoying. If you do download the app, they can be deleted in the usual way and they cannot install any other files in your system other than the single App file.

The only thing that happened was the Google received Ad money for the click and also collected info on your action, so they can serve up similar Ads for you next time.
