App Store app approval only says view in store instead of approve

I am the family manager for our accounts, when my child requests to install an app, it says ask for permission. When ask is selected, I get a message on my iPad that only says view in store instead of approve.


I have my child's iPad and mine updated, restarted, same WiFi, family settings have been reviewed for ask for permission.


This process initially didn't work on set up, I went to the Apple store and it worked when talking with the employee, 2 weeks later at home trying to install another app, I am getting this error again.


I am new to the Apple ecosystem so this could be user error of course. We are using an iPad Air (5th Gen) with iOS 16.5.1.


Any suggestions would be great!

Log out, then log back in on both devices fixed it for me. It may be that my child renaming the iPad broke the process, but it is working now after logging out, then back in on both!
