The volume can not be used because it is not snapshot booted.

Trying to update to Ventura 13.4.1 and I get the message "The volume can not be used because it is not snapshot booted." How are people supposed to figure out a solution? No link, no explanation or solution. A google search didn't help with what a snapshot boot is either.

The message was correct. You are not booted from a snapshot. I have no idea how that is possible but my guess is you'll have to erase and reinstall macOS. That should install the current update, too.

You should also probably contact Apple support because that’s a rather weird condition that I don’t think is supposed to be possible.
