When will these update stop?
iMac 27″, macOS 12.6
Monterey was released Oct 27, 2021.
Under normal Apple practices - they will offer Security Updates for about 3 years from date of release.

But do not see where the issues is.
Security Updates are to patch exactly that, Security of Computer, the OS and the User like you and me.
I would be thankful Apple is " On the Ball " and locking down the computer from Bad Actors and in some cases from bad User practices

Only if the Mac you have no longer completes the task you need of it, or your needs change.
