My phone is on sos and asking for SIM card but I don’t use SIM cards

I’m currently on wifi only can’t turn on cellular not sure why! hhhh

If you don't use any SIM cards – whether full-size, nano, or electronic (eSIM) – you won't get any cell phone service, with the exception of emergency service.


SIMs ("Subscriber Identification Modules") are how the phone company identifies you and your phone, to associate it with your cell phone plan. No SIM = no evidence that you're associated with a plan = no service.
