Also you now use finder to sync your iOS devices. Use the Finder to sync your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with your Mac - Apple Support (SG)

You didn't tell us which version of macOS you are running.

If you are running Mojave (10.14), you must use the version of iTunes that comes with the OS. I don't know why Apple chose not to offer a standalone iTunes installation kit, but they didn't.

If you are running Catalina (10.15) or later, Jimzgoldfinch gave you the answer.
