Hi Kaygibson!

I'm sorry that you are still being messaged by the same person.

If you have blocked a phone number, but you're still receiving messages from the same person via their Apple ID, it's possible that the person is using iMessage or another Apple service to contact you. Blocking a phone number in your regular messaging app may not prevent messages from Apple ID-based services. To fully block the person's communication, you can follow these steps:

1. Block the Apple ID via iMessage:

To block an Apple ID from sending you iMessages, you can use the following method:

  • Open the Messages app on your iPhone.
  • Find a message from the person you want to block (using their Apple ID) or compose a new message and type their Apple ID in the "To" field.
  • Long-press on their message or Apple ID, and a menu should appear.
  • Select "Block Contact" from the menu.

2. Adjust iMessage settings:

If you are still having issues after blocking the Apple ID, make sure that your iMessage settings are configured correctly to prevent messages from unknown senders:

  • Go to Settings on your iPhone.
  • Scroll down and tap on "Messages."
  • Look for the "Filter Unknown Senders" option and make sure it is enabled. This will filter out messages from people not in your contacts.

3. Report Spam to Apple:

If you continue receiving unwanted messages even after blocking the Apple ID and enabling the "Filter Unknown Senders" option, you can report the messages as spam to Apple. To do this:

  • Open the message from the person you want to report.
  • Tap on "Report Junk" or "Report as Spam."

4. Contact Apple Support:

If none of the above steps work, or if you believe you are being harassed or targeted with unwanted messages, you can contact Apple Support for further assistance. They can provide guidance and escalate the issue if necessary.

Please note that blocking a contact in iMessage or through the regular messaging app will only block communication on that specific app. If the person contacts you through other platforms or services, you may need to block them separately on those platforms as well.

Always prioritize your safety and well-being online, and don't hesitate to seek help or report inappropriate behavior to the appropriate authorities if needed.

Hmmm... Tricky.

If you are receiving messages from an unknown Apple ID, and you're unable to identify the sender's contact information, it can be challenging to block them directly. Here are some suggestions to address the issue:

  1. Report the issue to Apple: Even though you don't know the Apple ID of the sender, you can still report the problem to Apple Support. They may be able to help you investigate the issue further and provide guidance on how to deal with unwanted messages from unknown sources.
  2. Filter unknown senders (iMessage): If the messages are coming through iMessage, you can enable the setting that filters messages from unknown senders. This will move messages from unknown contacts to a separate tab, allowing you to review them without receiving notifications. To enable this feature on an iPhone, go to "Settings" > "Messages" and turn on "Filter Unknown Senders."
  3. Third-party apps: Depending on your phone's operating system, there might be third-party apps available that can help you filter or block messages from unknown senders. Look for reputable messaging apps on your app store and check their features to see if they can assist you in managing unknown contacts.
  4. Check for alternative contact details: Review the messages carefully to see if there are any clues about the identity of the sender. They might mention an email address, social media username, or other means of contact that you can use to identify and block them.
  5. Change your contact details: If the issue persists and you suspect someone you know might be trying to contact you anonymously, you can consider changing your contact details, such as your phone number or email address. Be cautious about sharing your updated contact information only with trusted individuals.
  6. Contact your mobile carrier: If the messages are not coming through iMessage but are regular text messages (SMS/MMS), you can contact your mobile carrier and inquire if they have any options for filtering or blocking messages from unknown senders.

Always prioritize your safety and privacy. If the messages are harassing, abusive, or threatening in nature, consider reporting the issue to the appropriate authorities, even if you don't know the sender's identity.
