Does MacBook Pro 14 2021 support 5.1 audio output through the 3.5mm jack? If not what would be the best way to connect it to a 5.1 audio system and get true 5.1 audio? Thanks in advance!

Just to add on to what WheelieNick wrote/posted you’d need a usb-c to usb-A ( female ) adapter then usb-A to A cable —->> usb audio breakout box that supports Macs plus does Optical out.. perhaps this ? https://www.amazon.ca/Douk-Audio-Converter-Interface-PCM192Khz/dp/B085XPRSGM/ref=sr_1_7?keywords=USB+to+Optical+Audio+Adapter&qid=1690333598&sr=8-7… there’s a straight usb-c to toslink digital audio dongle somewhere there… please note that only certain apps on the Mac will decode surround sound, dvd player and VLC, otherwise set to USB Audio Out, may have to mess around with Audio MIDI setup ( in utilities folder) ??
