Safari Credit Card AutoFill Incorrect Expiry Date Format

I noticed some websites want the expiry date entered as MMYY where Safari forces the Autofill expiry date format as MM/YY. I tried to remove the / in the Safari Settings/Autofill/Credit Cards section but Safari only accepts the date in the MM/YY format and won't accept it as MMYY. Can Apple give an option when editing the expiry date to remove the / or maybe have the format saved on a per website basis?
