Hello saqui!

Not brand new, no. There are camera protectors that are the same thing as glass screen protectors, but for the camera.

But I’m not sure what you’re seeing. Don’t go peeling layers off of your iPhone all willy-nilly. Ask someone who knows what’s normal:

Maybe you can share a photo with us, and we can try to determine if there are third-party, synthetic layers on your iPhone.

I hope this is helpful. Good Luck!

Edit- I just had a thought: Maybe you’re referring to a plastic, sticker-like material to protect it from dust. It’s been so long since I bought an iPhone, I don’t even know if they come like that anymore, or if they did at all. Please share a photo of this.

See the Apple Logo in the above pic? That seems to be steam gathering under a clear, plastic cover.

You are correct with the shine on the cover. That’s not normal.

The raised portion around the camera should also not be. When you remove the cover, you will most likely notice there are two holes. The lenses were not covered.

The lock button looks to be one from a cover.

Plus, there is a glass screen protector on the device. Leave that, if you want to. It protects the screen.

Now, take off the cover. Try peeling in the front with your fingernails along the edges of the screen.

Good Luck!
