macbook air m2 2023 - audio sounds tinny on other computers

I have a brand new 15" MacBook Air 2023 with the M2 chip. Everything looks and sounds great to me on video calls, but some users complain about the sound on their end being "tinny." The problem doesn't exist when I call those people from other devices, or when I test this with the other phones and computers we have in our house.

Has anyone else experienced this issue? It's frustrating because I have a feeling it involves settings on these other peoples' computers. I know one of them is a MacBook Air he has owned for a while, not sure about the other.

Your ears are correct, it absolutely does sound "tinny". My 15" M2 Air replaced a 2018 MacBookPro. I had read about "tinny" sound with the M2 Air, so I played a bunch of music side by side with the MBP while I was transferring over data. MBP audio has much more bass, M2 Air sounds quite "tinny" in comparison. Very easy to hear the difference side-by-side. Earphones fixes this. I have not played around with any sort of EQ app, got used to the difference in sound and doesn't bother me now unless I go from Air speakers to good headphones.
