Fully-charged battery dropped to zero all of sudden and phone is not charging anymore (Iphone 8 plus)

I have an Iphone 8 Plus. I had it fully charged during the night, and when I woke up, I started using an app. All of sudden, the phone reseted itself and when it was on again, the battery icon was 0%. I connected again into the charger, but it did not change to the charging icon. I left there for a while, I took it off and the battery icon became full all of sudden, and connecting to the charger this time showed the correct icon. So I disconnected the phone from the charger. However, not much later, the battery again dropped to zero and the issue persists. The phone turns off, but then turns on again and it keeps on this loop. Now trying to charge again does not change anything - it still is on 0%. Does anybody know how to solve this?
