I have an Apple Watch 8 that worked fine until a few days ago. When I lift my wrist to check the time the screen stays black. If I tap the screen lightly, it goes on. This is very annoying be use you need two hands for it.
I did all the basic things, like turning the feature off and on, on the phone and the watch, restarting both and had just the last upgrade installed, but still no turning on of the screen. Is my motion sensor broken?

I figured it out I had theater mode on. In the control center there are two masks tap that icon to turn it off. Then toggle the wake on rise setting off then on again

Are you, by any chance, in Theater Mode or have Do Not Disturb turned on?
