iwatch keeps locking

My iwatch 7 series won't turn on with wrist movement. I have to click the button. When I do- it goes to a generic face, not the one set & chosen as the current face.

In addition, the screen is not bright.

Yes, I have changed the brightness to as high as it will go in watch settings & my lock is set correctly - to wrist movement.
