Files uploaded to iCloud from my PC aren't showing up in my iCloud on my Apple devices

My phone, tablet, and desktop are all Apple, but my work computer is a PC laptop. I installed iCloud (as an app, I'm guessing...I'm not super-techy) on the PC so that I could save files and docs from there that could be accessed on my other devices. However, when I sign into iCloud online or on my Apple devices, I don't see anything I've supposedly saved from my PC. I've done several syncs from the iCloud app on my PC, making sure "iCloud" is checkmarked before clicking on "apply" (I don't need to save or access photos from the PC, so that isn't an issue), but I'm still not seeing the files from my PC. Any help or advice would be SO appreciated!
