has anyone had an issue with the iphone 12 pro max popping up with a temperature warning then the back glass cracking? my husbands phone did this and it still is working but the whole back glass is shattered

Any Corrosion?

From what you've reported, I am thinking it is a corrosive battery. Do you see any lumps on the iPhone? If so, the battery is, indeed, corroding, and that makes this a health hazard. So, if corrosion is occurring, you should get this serviced, ASAP.

Also, look into taking it to an AASP(Apple Authorized Service Provider) seeing if they offer service for this.
