Apple purchases

I keep getting multiple attempted purchase on my card at least 6 different charges for different amounts I had to move my money and stop using this card because it kept taking my money now it keeps charging but says that the purchase is declined insufficient funds the charges I don’t want or know what they are for all it says on my debit card app is that it’s an apple charge but when I go on my Apple ID to cancel the subscription or purchase nothing shows up on the subscription tab how do I stop these charges

You may need to have a valid payment method on file, even if the app you want to download is free.

Free apps has also In-app pruchase.

You can have a credit card / debit card on file and an Apple Account balance.

If you have set your Apple Account balance as your default payment method, your default payment method will be used first by Apple when you need to make a payment.

Some purchases might require you to have a credit card on file, even if you use your Apple Account balance to make the purchase.


You need to Add a payment method to your Apple ID – Apple Support (UK)

  • If you want to change your card, add first the new card, then remove the old one.
  • or if you use your Apple Account balance, you need to set your Apple Account balance as your default payment.

FYI: Not all credit & debit cards seem to work with App Store / iTunes Store, try a different one, or preferably a credit card. If your card is not accepted as a paymenf method, you need to contact your bank.

How to complete your purchase if a payment failed or was declined

  1. On your iPhone or iPad, open the Settings app.
  2. Tap your name.
  3. Tap Payment & Shipping.
  4. Add a different payment method and remove the old one
  5. Try to complete your purchase.

If an app has a subscription associated with it, see -> Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch -> Delete apps on your iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch - Apple Support

  • If you delete an app, it doesn’t cancel in-app subscriptions that you might have. While deleting an app, you might see a Cancel Subscriptions option. Learn how to cancel your subscriptions.
