Please somebody help me know how to transfer photos from iPhone to external hard drive and be able to view them. I can do this on a PC but Apple's Mac seem to complicate and make this not possible without selecting each individual photo and selecting reveal.

You can use Image Capture to move those photos from your iPhone to your external hard drive. You'll just need to choose the drive as the location to save them to as shown in Step 5, here: Transfer images in Image Capture on Mac - Apple Support
