Can't use Microsoft Office on Mac OS???

I went to the Apple Store and purchased Microsoft Office Home/Student 2021. I followed the instructions on office.com/setup and clicked the button to "download desktop apps." That created the file OfficeSetup.exe in my Downloads folder. When I click on OfficeSetup.exe, I get the following message:

The product packaging for the software clearly states that it is for PC/Mac, so what is the problem? I currently have macOS Monterey Version 12.6.6.
