Apple iOS lost ability to add separate cellular network for family setup.

We used to be able to select a third part cellular company during cellular plan selection for family Apple Watch setup. Now, that link is missing, and we’re stuck in a infinite loop with att prepaid login and not supported.

How setup different carrier for child Apple Watch Trying to setup Apple Watch with cellular for my child and use a different carrier for the watch (not the same as my iPhone is using). I paired the watch for family member, but when im trying to connect cellular it keeps on connecting to my carrier (not successfully, my plan does not support watch line). What can I do? I have a line for this watch from another carrier, but it’s not working, how to fix?

Cannot set the cellular provider for an Apple watch using 'family mode' I have a new watch (9) with cellular+gps and I am trying to set it up in 'family' mode for my 93 year old mother. I am at the latest versions for IOS and watchOS and have no trouble pairing them and setting the appleID's. I cannot set up a cellular provider (now called mobile) as the option is greyed out. It appears to be attempting to use the provider for my Iphone even though 'family' mode is documented as allowing a different provider to be used. Again, the 'Setup mobile' option is greyed out either in the initial configuration or using the 'settings' option in the IOS watch app. My hunch is bug in the latest watch app on my phone.

I was able to work around this issue by turning off my cellular sim (settings->cellular->sims->turn off this line. Then setup family plan watch as usual.
